Five Drinks Into Reality TV: Survivor Season 24 Episode 7 (I)

Tom Reviews Survivor: Season 24 Episode 7 "The Beauty in a Merge"

I was a little disappointed in this episode, mostly because of the outcome. I really liked Jonas, and I don't like that he's gone. On the other hand, I'm glad that it was one of the guys to go since, that opens up the game for a woman to win.

So let's get into player rankings.

First off, 10 points for our Player of the Week.

Congratulations Troyzan, on winning Reward, Immunity, and Hidden Immunity challenges tonight.

Five Drinks Into Reality TV: Survivor Season 24 Episode 6 (I)

Tom Reviews Survivor Season 24 Episode 6 "Thanks for the Souvenir"

Wow. I have never had less sympathy for someone with appendicitis. Seriously, I feel almost as if Colton deserved what happened to him, which is brutal, but I mean he was the jerk who made the jokes about Christina falling into the fire.

Also, I have to admit that Colton leaving the game, and the tribes merging did really give me a surprise in an episode where I though there wouldn't be any. I expected Christina to get cut, and then for a merge, and the men to all get together again. Guess it's going to be more complicated than that.

This episode wasn't great, but it was kinda fun, and I love these characters and am not ready for the show to be over yet, so I hope everyone watches.

Five Drinks Into Reality TV: Survivor Season 24 Episode 5 (I)

Tom Reviews Survivor Season 24 Episode 5 "A Bunch of Idiots"

Tribe Switch! This was just the drama I was hoping for, although I'm worried that the results won't be what I'm hoping for.The new Manono tribe seems pretty seriously outgunned, but unfortunately it is also dominated by the men, meaning that through sheer luck the men have been given a huge advantage.

My thoughts on this new situation is that unless there is some major shakeup in tribe loyalty, the women will need to throw Immunity Challenges on the Salani tribe, so they can vote out men to have the numbers at the merge. Otherwise the men will have the numbers, and pick apart the women tribe.

Five Drinks Into Thursday Night TV: Some More Office (I)

Tom Reviews The Office: Season 8 Episode 18 "Last Day in Florida"

I hope this is the last season of The Office. I think there's at least an okay series finale still in the bank somewhere that can be used to end this season and the series, and I hope the writers know this and can pull it off.

Five Drinks Into a TV Rant: First Seasons (I)

Tom's Take:

For some shows, the first season is the best it will ever be. Heroes jumps to mind when I think of these types of shows. Heroes had a great first season that introduced an interesting group of characters with interesting super powers that they were then forced to deal with. There were mysteries, and there was a season long plot involving Hiro's vision of the future exploding, and there was a scary villain named Sylar. It was awesome, and no future season lived up to the hype of that first season.
