BB20 is over, Kaycee has won, Tyler has lost. People are yelling either bitter jury, or mismanaged jury. My take is that Tyler screwed up his strategic game by letting Kaycee get to the end, when she was so liked by the jury. Scottie came back from jury and told Tyler that the jury didn't like Angela and Brett, but he continued onwards intending to go to f2 with Kaycee. I always argued against the people who said Paul lost for not taking James (even though that was right, I think taking Nicole was defensible, and Paul's weakness was incorrectly identified.) but this is a case where yes, the mistake was in who Tyler took to the end, not necessarily in how he managed the jury.
So time to do a final review of this cast.

I ended up being surprisingly enthralled by Angela's emotional growth, and her falling in love with Tyler at the end of the season. But that said, she was taking up a spot in the BB20 house which means she had a responsibility to be either great television, a great player, or preferably both. Unfortunately she was neither, and while I did enjoy her emotional growth, I would much rather have had a strong player in the game to challenge Tyler. She voted for Tyler because she fell in love with him.

Rockstar wasn't a good player, and most of the time she wasn't even that entertaining, but she gave us some iconic moments. On "my daughter's birthday" is a joke that will stand the test of time, and there are not that many players who can say the same. Rockstar did what she needed to, to help make this season entertaining, and I am thankful for that. She voted for Kaycee, as a member of the LGBT community, and she didn't think much of Tyler.

She got a power app that she didn't use, and instead told the other side about leading almost directly to her own eviction. Bayleigh ended being a pretty major letdown as a gamer, but she was good TV. She voted for Kaycee, because she liked Kaycee more and was pissed at Tyler.

Brett ended up not living up to my expectations for him strategically, but he gave some damn fine speeches. I think while he missed being a major player, he was close enough that I'm good having him from a game perspective, and TV wise, he was great. My favorite was making up a lie about Rockstar that was so laughably false, and yet FOUTTE bought it. He also played a part in JC's plan to get Scottie out. He was great. He voted for Tyler because he respected Tyler's game more.

Swaggy C was the perfect 2nd boot. He was entertaining, got in a showmance, and talked a massive game that he could not back up. His eviction and the mistakes he made early were the catalyst for a lot of the season. I'm still recovering from that cringey proposal which was hard to watch but also an exciting moment in kind of a ho hum finale. He's a definite possibility to be asked back. And I guess congrats to him and Bayleigh on their engagement?

Oh Fessy. Fessy, Fessy, Fessy. Faysal had one goal this season. To get Hayleigh to date him. And he succeeded in that goal. But when it came to the game, he failed at everything. He made the dumbest move of the season by evicting Scottie when Scottie was the only ally for him and Hayleigh. He was JC's big fat dumb puppet, which was some of my favorite moments from the show. He shockingly did not vote the same as Hayleigh, and instead voted for Kaycee cuz she won a bunch of vetoes.

We NEEDED Hayleigh to be a gamer, and she just wasn't except in the DR edit. She let Fessy put up Scottie. She completely fumbled the hacker powers. She dropped the ball. She voted for Tyler because she recognized he was the better player.

JC was my favorite this season, and I know I'm going to get raked over the coals for that. Don't get me wrong, he did a ton of problematic shit this season, but he also played the game the hardest, and also consistently made good TV. He made the best move of the season by tricking Fessy into putting up Scottie. There was not a single moment JC was not playing. Even at the end, JC used his final plea to try and come up with a reason Kaycee should bring him instead of Tyler. He was great. He voted for Tyler because he loved Tyler.

Wow. How did we have a BB20 finale without hearing from Kaitlyn? She was the star of the show prejury, and her failure to put together an 8 piece puzzle to get back in the house was one of the biggest turning points of the season. So much of the prejury revolved around Kaitlyn's wackiness, and losing her prejury definitely cost BB20 something.

She's sort of star by default since she won. Truthfully she was neither great TV or a great or interesting player, but she did play, she competed hard, and she ultimately did in fact win. It is a great thing to have another woman winner who is also a POC and a lesbian. I know people ask "why does it matter that she's a woman, or a POC, or a lesbian, why can't she just be Kaycee" and in a perfect world those things wouldn't matter. But we live in the real world, where those things do unfortunately matter, where white men have massive advantages, and get massive over representation, representation of women of color, and of gay women does matter. So congratulations Kaycee. Regardless of what fans say about whether you deserve it, you won, so you have 500 thousand reasons for why you deserve it.

Rachel will be best remembered for "what is wrong with Angela?" It is telling that moment came after Rachel was out of the house. Overall, Rachel was a fairly fun presence in the show, but ultimately I have to say she was a dud. She was a part of the dominant alliance, but ultimately she was an early boot in one of the most underrated moves Tyler made this move. Cutting Rachel gave him the ability to completely control and pair up with every other member of Level 6.

Scottie flipped. Scottie was the one who flipped his jury vote. All season long, Scottie was blamed for flipping when he really didn't. But he finally did. And it cost Tyler the win. I think Scottie was a major dud, although he seems like a lovely human being, his inability at the game of Big Brother was a detriment, because we needed him to step up in the second half of the season to provide Tyler a challenge, and he failed to do so. He voted for Kaycee, supposedly because she won the final HOH?

Tyler played an amazing game. He was somewhat boring, can I forgive him for that based on how incredible he was at the game. He had everyone fooled at one point or another, and basically had a f2 deal with everyone in the final 6. Unfortunately for the 5th U.S. season in a row counting CBBUS and BBOTT, the stronger player was not rewarded with the win in the final 2. Why? Is this a result of bitter juries, bad jury management, a changing of the times? Is it the fault of Millennials? I think that's a complicated question, and there may be something behind this being a trend, but I continue to refute the concept that this is a problem. I would have preferred Tyler to win, but I understand the loss. He did well in his final speech, even though his answers to the questions weren't great. Tyler will go down as one of the best to never win, right up there with Vanessa and Paul. We may very well see Tyler on our screens again.
